RUNIC WISDOM - MARCH 13

The practice of the council is simple. The basic rule is this: Speak from the heart, listen with the heart. Nobody ever interrupts anybody. A "talking stick" (any object you favor) helps, since the one holding the stick speaks until they are done, and only then does the stick pass. Useful in relationships, family, business, any community situation. Council is always applicable whenever two or more are gathered together.

Remember this: There are entities that support and encourage and sustain us in our effort to live in harmony and engage in right action. Call them what you will - Angels - Guides, Helpers - They are generous, they are free of all limitations, and they are with us always.

Visualize yourself standing before a gateway on a hilltop. Your entire life lies out behind you and below. Before you syep through the gateway, pause and review the past: the learning and the joys, the victories and the sorrows, in truth, everything it took to bring you here. Observe it all, bless it all, release it all. For it is in letting go of the past that you reclaim your power.

RUNIC WISDOM - MARCH 9

Often when I feel in need of divine encouragement,

I recite my favourite road prayer: Maranatha, 

A single word in Aramaic whose meaning is,

"Come Lord"

Ma-ra-na-tha. The tradition from which it descends

is deep and ancient, steeped in the practise of sages

and teachers and saints, a fine tradition of

meditation,. I subscribe to that. And although I

often go months without saying it, I always come

back to it: Maranatha ... Come Lord!

So simple and elegant  and powerful.

I release the old and give thanks for the blessings of my life.

Wanting for nothing, how shall I be dismayed?

Grieving for no thing, lost or unattained,

Why would I choke on the sharp bones of regret?

I am a guest in this house, thoughtful of my manners,

Mindful of my privileges, and so filled with gratitude

That when I pray, my prayers turn to praise,

  upon my lips.

Were I to die, just as I am, surrounded so with beauty,

My soul returning to its source, opened wide

And revealing the map of my journey,

Would show forth, undiminished, beauty only,

  only beauty.

O you whose ways are our ways when we let them be,

Hear our prayer.

Provide us with a set of sacred tools,

Whose right use can be lovingly detected in each other's eyes,

Tools that loose their benediction on our ancient bondage,

And heal us from all wounds of seperation,

Tools that, in our hands, define us as your children.

And so we offer up the fruit of this our prayer.

Help us, we pray, to bring it forth

From the highest possible place

And for the greatest possible good.
